Chronicles of a young journalist, and a waste of your time

hooray

with 6 comments

I am now an official contributor to GritCity.

For those of you not familiar with it (I am assuming everyone) it is a blog by young staffers about everything Tacoma and being a 20-something living here. I met with everyone today, and my name and mug should go on soon and I will start posting when I have a log in to our, apparently seriously crappy, blog software.

I have some ideas running through my head, so we’ll see how it works out.

  1. What was the decision-making process that lead to using that FEMA photo?

  2. They said they wanted a “silly” photo. I mentioned I had this one, but I was apprehensive about using it. So they put it online right away.

  3. Tor’s comment finally made me interested to look at the thing. I wanted to post a comment, but the ridiculously long registration meant to screen out anyone not bored or crazy convinced me to abort the mission. This is what I would have written:

“Damn right Brian dresses classier than all of you. Kelly is apparently too intent on peeled grapes to remember to list ‘Correct my grammar and teach me the difference between it’s and its.’ ”

How do I send them silly photos of you?

  6. Oh, before it was a joke, but now it’s on.

Too bad I left all my photos on the Evergreen server, but don’t think I’ll forget.
